Republican governor Sarah Palin do not agree to accept nearly 30% of stimulus budget allocation for Alaska.
The Obama administration offered $930 Million (expected) for Alaska as stimulus budget to revive the local economy to generate the synergy effect for the whole US Economy.
Palin said, she on behalf of Alaska would only accept those money which are for timely, targeted and temporary projects. She also said that she has no interest to accept any fund which will bind the future of their state.
Palins' rejection of $100 million for education made many person totally surprised. Many person even mentioned this as an act to show her opposite standing of Obama administration only.
In such instance, Palin totally left the matter on to the shoulders of legislators of Alaska. She asked them to take the right decision. But the legislators will have a very small amount of time as they need to decide on or before 3rd April.
The Alaska Governor accepted the additional funding for the following projects:
- $116 million for a University of Alaska Fairbanks research vessel.
- $68 million for water and sewer project.
- $ 39 million for public housing project.
- $21 million for education and job training.
